Baby Tech: Sign Me Up!

Having a baby is super exciting - and scary! I’m currently pregnant and have been getting up-to-speed on all the essential products that can help make the transition to new parent go more smoothly. I’ve stocked up on lots of onesies, burping cloths and bibs - but have my eye on some more tech-savvy products that promise to make life just a bit easier.

Of course, when my parents were raising me, none of this stuff existed and they did just fine - but why snub your nose at tech that can improve your life? Here are some of the coolest, tech-savviest baby products I’ve been reading up on:

Owlet Smart Sock: What an incredible invention. The Smart Sock 2 is a little sock that your infant wears, and it measures their heart rate and oxygens levels while they sleep. The Smart Sock notifies you via phone if something doesn’t appear to be right with your baby. You can also keep an eye on your baby’s heart rate and oxygen levels in real-time. According to Owlet, 83% of parents report better sleep while using the Smart Sock!

Nod Sleep Coach App by Mimo: Having trouble getting your baby to sleep? This product sounds like a lifesaver. The Nod app was developed by studying the sleep patterns of over 60,000 babies and 350,000 sleep sessions. Nod learns about you and your family, then delivers you a set of routines specific to the age of your baby, your style of parenting, and your baby's behaviors, customized from the world's leading pediatric sleep experts.

Fisher-Price Deluxe Newborn Auto Rock 'N Play Sleeper With SmartConnect: New parents swear by these rock ‘n play sleepers, and Fisher-Price’s option earned rave reviews from CNET editors. This cozy little sleeper offers two rocking speeds, music, sounds and vibration, all controlled from an app on your smartphone. I can envision plopping baby in here while I cook dinner or take a shower.
