Brunch is all well and good, and provides a classic way to spend Mother’s Day, but we know you’re above average, so we’ve found some more creative ways you can make mom’s day special this year.
Take a cooking class
Even though your own cooking may never be as great as your mom’s, taking a cooking class with her will get you one step closer to achieving those meals, and it provides a tasty way to bond. Places like William Sonoma and Sur la Table offer cooking classes on a regular basis.
Exercise boosts endorphins, which make you happy, so this is a fool proof way to have a day full of smiles. Whether you go hiking, biking, to yoga, or swimming, being active with mom is a win-win for you both. Try using Class Pass, or just getting outdoors.
Nothing feels as great as giving back, and doing it with your mom doubles those feel good vibes. Pick a charity you’re both passionate about and reap the rewards of making others’ day brighter.
There’s nothing better than finding the perfect pair of shoes or that jacket you can’t live without. Sometimes you need a second opinion though, and who better than the woman who raised you to provide that opinion? Mom deserves a treat herself too, so offer to buy something she really wants.
Have an at-home spa day
Complete with face masks, pedicures, hair masks, etc. Draw mom a bath with special salts or a Lush bath bomb, hand her a glass of wine, and let her unwind and enjoy some ‘me time.’ Cause moms never get me time.
Remember to celebrate the moms in your life every day, but especially today.
