Startup Playground

Events, Technology

Last Thursday was a particularly cool day for me. “Why’s that,” you ask?! Because I had the pleasure of attending the first-ever Pitch SF ‘11 at AT&T Park – an expo event that gave nearly 2,000 attendees up close and personal access to the latest and greatest web and mobile startups. I should mention this all went down on the Club level concourse of the ball park.

With over 90 startups participating (some coming from as far away as Denmark, Korea, and Pakistan), describing the event as buzzing with creative energy feels like a gross understatement. There were constant in-person demos, real time Q&A’s, and even free rounds of classic arcade games like Pac-Man and Galaga.

From social networks “for drinkers” to apps guaranteed to “unsuckify your meetings,” nearly all of the participating startups are worth knowing a bit about. In an effort to remain unbiased, however, I’ll stick to highlighting the award winners for you:

Can’t wait to grab my early bird ticket again next year!

*Please note: The full list of participants should be live on Pitch SF’s event site soon.
