It’s the most wonderful time of the year... and if you’re looking for some fun and spirited activities to do in San Francisco over the holiday season, we have just the list for you including some of our favorites!
Ice Skate in Union Square (Open daily from 10:00 am - 11:30 pm in Union Square)
If you’re craving some time on the ice, visit the beautiful ice skating rink in Union Square with your family, friends, and loved ones. The plaza is decorated with festive lights and it’s a chance to ice skate in the middle of the bustling city, surrounded by busy holiday shoppers! They also have Disney’s Aladdin-themed skates every Wednesday from 6:00 - 7:30 pm and 8:00 - 9:30 pm.
Watch A Christmas Carol (Now through Dec. 27 at the American Conservatory Theater)
We all know and love this Christmas classic, and watching it performed live in this amazing, century-old building is an experience unlike any other.
Visit 'Tis the Season for Science (Open daily from 11 am - 4 pm at The California Academy of Sciences)
If you need somewhere to go with the kiddos, head over to the California Academy of Sciences and enjoy the indoor snow flurries, polar-themed exhibit, and their all-new ice skating rink.
Go see The Nutcracker performed by The San Francisco Ballet (Now through Dec. 30 at The War Memorial Opera House)
This is one of my favorite things to do over the holidays. The ballet dancers, the costumes, the music... it’s all magical and is sure to get anyone in the holiday spirit! Fun fact: Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" made its American premiere at the San Francisco Ballet on Christmas Eve 1944. If you’re looking to go with a big group of 20 or more people, they also provide group discounts.
