What will you do at Cutline?

I’m excited to work alongside the rockstar Cutline team, and continue to elevate how we share our clients’ storytelling through creative and interesting ways, in an ever-changing industry.

What's your favorite PR experience so far?

One that sticks out the most is a trip to Hawaii on behalf of a Hawaiian travel client. Our clients took us on a plane tour over Oahu in an eight-seater Bellanca Pacemaker airplane that was built in 1929. It was one of the most beautiful and amazing experiences. One of our clients also invited us into her home for a home-cooked meal, and it was the moment I learned how Hawaii’s culture is so special and truly unique. My team and I were able to experience Hawaii’s ohana culture firsthand while gaining a better understanding of our client’s brand. As a result, this incredible trip allowed us to authentically share our client’s story.

Who would you most like to swap places with for one day and why?

A criminal detective. I watch more TV than I care to admit, including a lot of crime dramas and documentaries - and, I LOVE a good story. The idea of being a sleuth and unraveling a mysterious story piece by piece, character by character, is super exciting to me. I think this is also why I love communications, because I get to tell cool, meaningful stories on behalf of my clients.

Where is your favorite place in the world and why?

Kerala, India. It’s a beautiful, lush, tropical state (so gorgeous that it’s known as “God’s Own Country”) in southern India where my parents grew up. I love it because it’s where my 97-year-old grandmother still lives, and I’ve been visiting her since I was four years old. She taught me how to speak the local language, Malayalam, and to this day she’ll sneak me a candy bar, just like she did when I was little.

What do you love to do when you're not working?

I love exploring everything the Bay Area has to offer, whether it’s hiking to take in all the beautiful views, making my way through all the restaurants or taking weekend trips to Napa or Carmel. I’m always telling people that California is happy living!

I’m also a huge sports fan, and I’m a long-suffering Dallas Cowboys fan. We will get back to the Super Bowl!

Tell us about a few of your favorite things… including, of course, your favorite gadget or app!

Shazam, WhatsApp and Pinterest are a few of my favorite apps. Shazam was the very first app I ever downloaded. As a music lover, instantly learning a song’s name and artist feels like magic!

WhatsApp is another favorite because I’m easily able to stay in touch with my friends and family who live around the world. My best friends recently had a baby girl in London, and I was able to get minute-by-minute updates and photos on the day she was born.

Finally, thanks to Pinterest, I’m not ordering take out for dinner each night, nor am I able to commit to my bedroom decor for longer than six months.

If you could be in the movie of your choice, what movie would you choose and what character would you play?

It’s not a movie, but if I could do it all over again, I’d try to be a Broadway star. I have zero singing or dancing talent, but the idea of using those two things to tell a great story would be a blast.
