Celebrating the Women Who Inspire Us, Today and Always

As a woman-owned company, we celebrate women every day and have since we started Cutline almost 16 years ago. Today, on International Women’s Day, we wanted to take a few minutes to give a shout-out to just a few of the women who inspire us, motivate us, encourage us. They’re women who laugh with us and cry with us. They’re women who we would be lost without. Today we celebrate them. And every day we celebrate all the strong, smart, funny women in our lives.

“Our fearless founders, Erin and Megan, and the entire Cutline Crew! There’s not a day that goes by where I don’t learn something new. These women are inspiring, motivating, and so genuine. #WomenRule.” —Carrie

“My three best girlfriends from high school, Gina, Sarah, and Jessi, have been guiding lights for me as I’ve become a mother and grapple with all the ups and downs of parenting. I’m so grateful that our friendships have endured for almost 20 (!) years. We have a never-ending group text thread that makes me laugh, cry and appreciate these three strong, funny, and caring women on a near-daily basis. I can go to them with any problem and trust they’ll always give it to me straight.” —Esther

“My son’s kindergarten teachers! My brain cannot even begin to comprehend teaching a group of 25 five and six-year-olds virtually (or any age, really) during a pandemic, but they’ve managed to do it gracefully for six months now and I am in awe every day at their ability to keep the kids engaged, happy, active, and learning!” —Colleen

It’s important to me that the women in my life build one another up and lead by example. My mom and my sister are two strong powerful role models for me. They inspire me to do my best, always share the best advice, and encourage me to believe in myself. I’m so grateful for them!” —Courtney

My daughter is my inspiration every day. I see her strength of character and the boldness of her young 10-year-old person, and I am so thankful she was born in a time where her voice will be heard and respected. I also see the pride that brings her grandmothers and great-aunts who fought for women’s rights in the 70s when they were just getting real financial, political and personal independence. To witness the full circle of that fight makes me incredibly proud and humble, and most importantly, it makes me so hopeful for the future.” —Megan

My younger sister inspires me in so many ways. She’s brave, determined, hilarious, and an incredibly talented clarinet player. She has so much compassion for her family and friends, and all animals. Even though she’s five years younger than me, I look up to her every day. Also, my Mom, for always putting her children first. We’re all incredibly close, and have her to thank for that.” —Lily

My mom is my greatest inspiration. She grew up in southern India with very little. At 25 years old, instead of choosing to have an arranged marriage, she decided to move to the U.S. and pursue her nursing career. She was determined to help her parents and siblings have a better life. I often think about the courage it must have taken to move to a new country alone, where there was a strange new culture she never even experienced through TV or movies, and a language she hadn’t yet mastered. Against all the odds, she built a successful career and has since been the singular force that changed the future of an entire generation of my family. My mom's courage, bravery, and selfless love for her family is nothing short of inspiring.” —Vineetha
